Young Trustees Movement
Branding for a new movement, aiming to grow the number of young trustees on boards in England and Wales.
With less than 3% of charity trustees under the age of 30, the Young Trustees Movement was created to drive change. Perspectives from a diverse group are essential for boards to stay informed and responsive, encourage debate and make better decisions. As such, the movement takes a systemic approach with current and aspiring young trustees, employers and allies to build a movement of young trustees.
Young Trustees needed a brand identity that reflected the dynamic and disruptive nature of the movement. The design needed to include a recognisable visual icon that represented the theme of taking power.
The identity centred around the use of the switch symbol, which symbolises power and the need for change, as well as the door being opened for the next generation of trustees. This is accompanied by bold, block capitals, which offer a sense of purpose and strength, whilst the tight spacing represents the shift that can happen when people join together.
"Abi created the Young Trustees Movement brand and coached me through the process of what that would look like. I had a brief and a feel of what I would like the brand to be. Abi excelled my expectations and identified needs and ideas that we had not even considered. She asked incredible questions which enabled useful thinking in order for us to develop the brand.”
